What each phase is for
Most of the grimoire carries a traditional moon timing. Here is what each phase favors, and the spells that belong to it.
New moon

The planetary days
The seven-day week is named for the seven classical planets, and old grimoires such as the Key of Solomon time their workings by the planet ruling the day and the hour. Each day is split into twelve planetary hours from sunrise to sunset and twelve more through the night, ruled in the old Chaldean order: Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, Moon.
| Day | Planet | Traditionally for |
|---|---|---|
| Sunday | Sun | success, health, recognition |
| Monday | Moon | dreams, intuition, home, the sea |
| Tuesday | Mars | courage, protection, defense |
| Wednesday | Mercury | messages, study, travel, trade |
| Thursday | Jupiter | luck, growth, money |
| Friday | Venus | love, beauty, friendship |
| Saturday | Saturn | binding, banishing, endings |
