Oil is the lifeblood of any combustion engine. After thousands of miles, it grows tired — heavy with metal flecks, weakened by heat, no longer carrying that heat away the way it should. The Black Elixir is the simple, sacred act of releasing what's spent and welcoming what's new.

What's Included

  • Drain old oil + remove old filter
  • Inspect drain plug, gasket, and pan
  • Install fresh OEM-grade filter
  • Refill with conventional, blend, or full synthetic (your choice)
  • Top off washer fluid + visual inspection of belts and hoses
  • A small blessing whispered over the dipstick before we close the hood

The Letting-Go

A small ritual to perform alongside an oil change — for releasing what no longer serves the engine, the car, and you.

What You'll Need

  • A small jar to collect a teaspoon of the old oil (we'll provide if you ask)
  • A pinch of dried rosemary or sage
  • A piece of paper and a pen
  • Salt (any kind)

The Working

  1. While the oil is draining, write on the paper one thing you're ready to release — a worry, a habit, a relationship with anything that's been running you tired. Be specific.
  2. Sprinkle the rosemary or sage into the jar with the teaspoon of old oil.
  3. Fold the paper three times, away from you, and tuck it into a sealed bag with a pinch of salt.
  4. Take the bag to a place far from your home — a public bin, a wild place, anywhere the wind is honest — and leave it there. Do not look back.
  5. When the new oil is in, place your hands on the hood and say (out loud or silent): 'What's tired is gone. What's clean carries us forward.'

The bag and jar can also be buried at the base of a mature tree if you have access to one. The tree will hold what you released.
