The Elder Futhark is the writing system used by Germanic peoples from roughly 150 to 800 CE — twenty-four letters, each carrying a sound and a meaning. We hand-paint them in weather-sealed enamel, in discreet locations within your engine bay or undercarriage. They don't void warranties. They don't affect resale. They just travel with you.

What's Included

  • Consultation to choose runes appropriate to your situation
  • Surface prep and application of weather-sealed automotive enamel
  • Discreet placement (engine bay, frame rail, inside fender) — never on visible body panels
  • Photo documentation of placement (so you can find them later)
  • Single rune, bindrune (combined runes), or full inscription available
  • A small consecration ritual at the end

The Naming

A consecration of the runes after they're painted — turning ink into protection by giving the work your voice. Done either with us or alone, on the day the runes are applied or any waxing moon after.

What You'll Need

  • A small piece of paper with the rune (or runes) drawn in your own hand
  • A white candle
  • A few grains of salt
  • Your own voice — speaking aloud, even quietly

The Working

  1. Light the candle near the vehicle (or inside, if it's safer). Place the paper face-up on the hood or dashboard.
  2. Look at the rune you've drawn. Speak its name aloud three times — slowly. (Algiz. Algiz. Algiz.) Let the sound fill the space.
  3. Speak the meaning aloud — what you've asked the rune to do. ('Protect this car and everyone in it. Protect this car and everyone in it. Protect this car and everyone in it.') Three times.
  4. Sprinkle the few grains of salt on the paper. Fold it three times, away from you.
  5. Tuck the folded paper somewhere inside the vehicle — under the carpet, behind a panel, in the spare tire well. Somewhere only you know.

The runes painted on the vehicle do their work without you. The folded paper is your private contract with them — a way of saying you accept their protection and will tend the vehicle in return. Burn the paper only when you sell the car or release the protection.
