The Cabin Breath

A blessing for the air inside the vehicle — for safe lungs, calm passengers, and the small sanctuary the car becomes when the world is hot, loud, or unkind. Especially good for vehicles that carry children or ill people.

What You'll Need

A small bundle of fresh herbs — rosemary, lavender, mint, or eucalyptus all work
A clean cotton handkerchief
A bowl of water with three drops of essential oil (peppermint or lavender)
Your own steady breath

The Working

Sit in the driver's seat with the vehicle off, doors closed, windows up. Take three deep slow breaths.
Hold the herb bundle in front of the dashboard vents. Whisper into the leaves: 'Clean air. Calm air. Safe air.' Three times.
Run the dampened handkerchief along the dashboard, the steering wheel, and the inside of each window. As you do, name the people who ride in this car — partner, children, friends. Bless them by name.
Place the herb bundle in the cup holder or under a seat. Leave it there until it dries fully (usually a week or two).
Turn the key. Let the fans run on full for sixty seconds with the windows still up. Then crack one window. Drive away.

When the bundle is fully dried, you can crumble it into the cabin air filter housing on your next filter change — Moonswrench will do this for you for free if you ask. The herbs continue their work in the airflow.
